OPTIMIZE PROCESSES TO AVOID COLD-END FOULING
The measurement system works by controlling the boundary layer temperature between the flue gas and the sensor tip of the instrument. The Breen Probe can be placed anywhere downstream of the economizer, from the SCR outlet to the scrubber inlet. Precisely controlled cycling between preset high and low temperatures results in accurate determination for the formation temperature, evaporation temperature and process gas dew point of the flue gas condensables.
By knowing these critical temperatures, the operators are able to control the flue gas temperatures or the condensable species to avoid cold-end fouling and corrosion.
DIRECT MEASUREMENT OF SULFURIC ACID VAPOR
In the case where the vapor is pure H2SO4 , the system combines this information with gas moisture levels using proven mathematical analysis providing real- time information on SO3 concentration. The SO3 concentration is calculated using industry-accepted algorithms that covert the flue gas dew point to SO3 or H2SO4 vapor concentrations.
