Breen Energy Launches Sulfuric Acid Dewpoint Monitor AbSensor-ADM Used in Oil- and Gas-Fired Applications

{Carnegie, PA} Breen Energy Solutions announced the release of a new product, the AbSensor-ADM, specifically designed to measure Sulfuric Acid Dewpoint. This new instrument is designed for oil- and gas-fired boilers and other industrial applications and is priced aggressively for those markets.

“This new product is a line extension that serves another sector in our target industries,” said Cal Lockert, Breen Energy Solutions President. “Our goal is to provide the acid gas knowledge, products and services necessary to assure environmental compliance and commercial profitability for our industrial users.”

The current Acid gas condensables measurement devices commercialized by Breen, the AbSensor-SO3 and AbSensor-AbS, are designed for the challenging applications found in utility coal-fired boiler applications. These instruments are more expensive and have advanced functionality not required for situations in which only Acid Dewpoint measurement is desired and the flue gas composition is not particularly challenging. The AbSensor-ADM is ideal for low-dust flue gas applications in the 100 to 350 Degree Fahrenheit range. The primary application for this device is measurement of Sulfuric Acid Dewpoint in small boiler and industrial applications.

Breen Energy Solutions Granted Patent for Control of Sulfur-Trioxide in Europe and Japan

{Carnegie, PA} Breen Energy Solutions (www.breenes.com) announced it was granted a patent by the European Patent Office and the Japanese Patent Office for its Method And Apparatus For Detection, Measurement And Control Of Sulfur-Trioxide And Other Condensables In Flue Gas of fossil-fired power plants. The patent includes detection and measurement of ammonium bi-sulfate and sodium bi-sulfate in addition to sulfur trioxide. The patent also covers feedback control of sorbent additives into the flue gas of coal-fired generation plants. Sorbents covered include the raw elements and compounds of ammonia, calcium, sodium and magnesium. This patent has already been granted in the US and these patent grants expand the ability of Breen Energy to deploy this technology worldwide.

Breen Energy Solutions Wins Contracts

The contracts involve sorbent injection for the removal of Mercury (Hg) and other contaminants. One contract with a large utility in the eastern United States includes the supply, operation and testing of two temporary dry sorbent injection systems. The second contract, with a southern utility, will focus on testing the use of activated carbons and non-AC sorbents for the removal of mercury.

Breen Receives Patent Approval

Breen Energy Solutions Expands Team; Reorganizes Executive Management

{Carnegie, PA} Breen Energy Solutions announced today the reorganization of its executive team and hiring of new sales and project management professionals. Cal Lockert was promoted to President of the company, while Chetan Chothani was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Dan Menniti was named Director of Sales for the Northern Region.

Additionally, Breen added two new directors: Phil Reeves as Director of Sales of the Southern Region and Al Depaoli, Director of Projects.
