Chetan ChothaniPresident & Chief Technology Officer
Chetan Chothani earned his degree in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Bombay. His early career was with an A&E company, Chemtex Engineering, that provided technology transfer services to Dupont for their Polyester, Rayon and Tyvek manufacturing processes.
He moved to the US in 1994 working with Fisher Rosemount Systems, now Emerson Process Management, as a controls engineer for their Provox and DeltaV control systems. He moved to Pittsburgh in 1997 to work for Equipment and Controls (ECI) and eventually moved to Adaptive Resources, Inc. (ARI), an advanced controls company, then a part of ECI. In 2000 he became the president of ARI and in 2002 he was a founding member of Breen Energy Solutions. In 2009 he acquired a controlling interest in ARI and expanded its offerings in the field of systems integration and process controls.
As President and CTO for Breen, he is responsible for coordinating the research and development efforts, product design and commercialization, manufacturing and operations. He is a co-inventor on a critical SO3 patent application and several patent disclosures.
Daniel MennitiSenior Director of North America Sales & Marketing
Daniel Menniti earned his BS in Chemical Engineering at Penn State University in 1986. In 1992 He earned his MBA at Farleigh Dickinson University.
Early in his career, he was an Environmental Engineer at the New Jersey DEP and was involved with many of the New Jersey RCRA and Superfund sites. He later moved onto the applications and sales of analytical instrumentation for Land Instruments International, which was later acquired by AMETEK, Inc. During his career at Land Instruments, he worked in a variety of sales service and upper management positions, from Global Product Management, to VP of International Sales and Director of Marketing and Customer Service.
Prior to Joining Breen in March of 2010, Daniel had worked closely with the members of the Breen team to assist them with the servicing of the AbSensor probe systems.
Daniel is currently responsible for the North American Sales and Marketing, as well as the Business Application Development of the Breen AbS/SO3/Acid Dewpoint Probe Systems across industries
Robert BranningDirector of Technical Services
Bob has 30 years of power plant engineering and operations experience, beginning his power plant career in 1983 when he joined JEA (formerly Jacksonville Electric Authority) on their project management team constructing the St. Johns River Power Park (SJRPP). In 1985, he joined the SJRPP plant organization as they initially staffed the plant and was responsible for the initial contract acceptance testing of all major plant equipment. In 1996, following his early career as Results and Performance Engineer and the lead engineer for plant fuel flexibility, he was promoted to Operations Manager responsible for management of Power Block Operations. In 2001, he was called back to the Engineering Dept. to lead efforts for compliance with the Clean Air Act Amendments and began a series of plant upgrades including retrofitting low NOx burners, pulverizer capacity upgrades, over-fire air and SCR systems. The combustion improvements associated with these upgrades allowed the plant to burn 30% petroleum coke, direct-fired in two of six pulverizers on each unit. In 2007, he joined Tackticks, LLC a Raliegh-Durham based company working in the niche field of SCR optimization. Then in 2009, joined Fuel Tech when Tackticks was acquired by them. He joined Breen Energy Solutions in 2011 as Sr. Manager of Technical Services responsible for after-sales client technical support. Bob earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Miami in 1982.
Andy BergmanRegional Sales Manager/North
Andy joined the Breen Field Service in 2010. Through experience as a technician, and then as the Field Service Manager, he gained power plant experience assisting in more than 150 AbSensor system installations across the US and around the world. In 2017 Andy joined the sales team. Andy served 6 years as an electrician in the Navy before graduating from Kent State University.
Lee KirsteinDirector/Finance & Operations
Lee joined Breen in 2016 as Business Manager and progressed to his current role as Director, Finance and Operations in 2017. He has more than 10 years of experience in various accounting, finance and operations roles in various fields including newsprint, residential/commercial security, telecommunications and nuclear technology. Lee earned his Accounting degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 and his M.B.A from Robert Morris University in 2008.
Sankar SeetharamaDirector/International Sales & Marketing
Sankar earned his B Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Banas Hindu University, India in 1974. After a couple of years in the steel industry he joined the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his MBA in 1978.
He has over 35 years of experience in the air pollution control industry in bidding, selling and execution of a wide variety of complex projects worldwide. He started his career with Wheelabrator Frye Inc and was involved in growth and transition through eleven different ownership changes including major corporations like Waste Management, Siemens, Foster Wheeler.
At Wheelabrator he spent many years as Product Manager – Electrostatic Precipitators leading new product development efforts and successfully driving major utility projects in North America. Since 2000 he has been in upper management roles with responsibilities for all air pollution control product lines, marketing, contract negotiations, and international business among others. After his retirement from Amec Foster Wheeler as Vice President – Commercial Operations for their Environmental business unit in May, 2016 Sankar joined the Breen team. His responsibilities include international marketing and sales growth.
Gary TonnemacherRegional Sales Director/South
Gary has 40 years of operations, engineering, management and business development experience in the coal fired power generation industry including over 15 years with a focus on air pollution control technologies. He began his career with Consumers Power in 1977 and started up Campbell Unit 3. In 1982 he joined Gilbert Commonwealth (G/C) and for the next 15 years provided mechanical engineering and project engineering for numerous plant improvement projects. Gary joined CP&L in 1996 as the Manager of the Fossil Mechanical Engineering unit. During his career with CP&L /Progress Energy he started the Strategic Engineering Unit and was the Director of the Major Projects Section which was responsible for the execution of all of the SCR and scrubber projects in NC and FL. Gary left Progress Energy in 2006 and has held various sales and business development positions with Mobotec USA, Nalco, and Ecolab focusing on NOx, SOx, and Hg reduction technologies and chemistries. He joined Breen Energy Solutions in 2015 as Regional Director of Sales – South. Gary earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in 1977 and obtained his PE license in both PA and TN.
